This procurement relates to the delivery of the current SD WAN and Internet services for the five Hawkes Bay Councils. (Napier City Council, Wairoa District Council, Central Hawkes Bay District Council, Hastings District Council and the Hawkes Bay Regional Council). Note each of the Councils will be contracting separately and each has the option to divest from the shared arrangement if they so choose.
The Councils have approximately 63 locations. There are networks as small as five sites to approximately 24 sites, across the Hawkes Bay region including metro and rural locations. Within the networks there are priority sites which require a redundant solution in the event of failover. The technology (Hardware) is nearing end of life, and will require a refresh, appropriate to the solution deployed. The existing solutions are coming off contract.
The Councils are firstly interested in learning what technology solutions are open to them.
The Councils are interested to hear from Technology Solutions Providers whom can outline their technology solutions and where they think the Councils should invest to be prepared for emerging technology trends, over the next 3 to 5 year timeframe. We would also like to understand how the Respondent’s proposed technologies address change management and if any demonstrated ability to be able to service multiple networks simultaneously. The Respondents should be prepared to present if required to the Councils following their registration of Interest. As Councils we have both a high emphasis on value for money and also a desire to understand how our technology spend can benefit our stakeholders and the communities we serve.
Following this RFI we will narrow down on our Technology Solution and prepare for a Tender for our networks.
