Massey University is seeking to establish a Panel of Preferred Suppliers for supply and installation of structured cabling on the Albany, Manawatu and Wellington campuses. Telecommunications cabling infrastructure can be considered to be any cabling system used for the transport of both voice and data communications and/or video and multimedia information. Fundamentally, all cabling covered by this standard is to be designed and installed for a minimum 10 years life cycle.
Suppliers are invited to propose solutions for one, two or all three campuses.
‘Supply and installation of structured cabling’ is the general term used by Massey University ITS to describe network communications infrastructure utilised to enhance and support all administrative, teaching, research and learning functions, but not limited to;
• Structured cabling
• Copper and voice systems
• Fibre optic systems
• Cabinets and enclosures
• External and internal pathways
• Any other requirements from time to time
The formation of a supplier panel is intended to enhance the University’s requirement for consistency of delivery across all campus locations as well as provide the successful tenderer(s) the security of a defined, committed and contracted relationship with the University.
