Massey University (Massey or the University) has initiated a major development and capital works building programme on the East Precinct of the Albany campus. This project, the Sir Neil Waters (SNW) Building Project, is the first of several building and infrastructure projects planned over the next 10 to 15 years. The projects will respond to the consolidation objectives and projected growth of the University, from approximately 5,000 to 15,000 EFTS, as defined in the Campus Development Plan (CDP). The project involves a new 2,200m2 (circa $15m) extension to the existing Sir Neil Waters building. A construction programme period of approximately 14 months is envisaged.
In July 2017 the University Council approved the funding for the SNW project, among others, as well as a proposed collaborative, open book approach to procurement. In November 2017 the University Tenders Board endorsed an open Registration of Interest process that would lead to a non-traditional approach to construction procurement by agreeing to the selection of a Prime Contractor Delivery Partner with the track record and capabilities to work in an open book sub-trade tendering, Collaborative Agreement (CA).
The purpose of this Call for Registration of Interest (ROI) is to seek registrations of interest from qualified Prime Contractors (respondents) interested in partnering with Massey to provide construction management services for the SNW building project.
