Massey University is seeking a suitably qualified Construction Company to carry out alterations and refurbishment work to our Social Science Tower (SST) building on the Turitea Campus in Palmerston North. The work is for the refurbishment of levels 1, 6 & 7 only and involves major alterations to level 1 and smaller scale alterations to levels 6 and 7. All areas are to be fully redecorated once alterations are complete. The approximate area of the project covers some 2,300m2 of floor space.
Although each floor will be vacant during the programmed construction phase, the remainder of the building will be occupied. This will require special attention to the safety of users during construction, particularly as the main lift and stair are centrally located.
The work described in the attached Tender Documents is to be done in three separable portions, one for each floor. It is anticipated the work will commence in November 2017 and take approximately six months to complete.
Proposals should be based on a lump sum contract for the entire works which will be split into three separable portions.
