The Applied Policy Adviser Development (a-PAD) programme is a cross-government initiative to build highly professional policy capability within the public sector.
The programme has been in existence since 2012 with services provided by Victoria University. The current contract for delivery of the a-PAD programme ends in 2015. This Expression of Interest is for services to be delivered from mid-2015, for a period of three years.
The objectives of the programme are to provide foundation knowledge and skills for policy advisers from public sector organisations, and to foster learning and networks between these organisations. The programme brings together theory and practice, drawing on the knowledge and expertise of both academics and senior public sector practitioners.
