The Ministry is seeking advice on whether the Manukau Harbour could serve as a location for a large-scale commercial port in the future. To provide a clear recommendation on its viability (both operationally from a safety perspective and financially from a maintenance perspective), we anticipate that field investigations will be required to take account of seasonal differences in and around the Manukau Harbour and tidal bar.
