Request for Proposals Water Supply Master Plan Development

A Water Supply Masterplan needs to be developed for Morrinsville and Matamata townships. Both townships are experiencing rapid growth and the Council needs to better plan for this in the short, medium, and long term. Along with growth pressures, there are multiple drivers (i.e. resilience, water quality, levels of service, critical asset renewals, compliance, restrictive consent conditions, sustainability) that also need to be considered with the capacity planning.

The master planning process will be used as a sound methodology to assess these multiple drivers.

The masterplan will be developed with 30 year planning horizon taking into account growth projections, changes to the water sector with the introduction of the new regulator and resource consents and other compliance requirements. Water hydraulic models for Morrinsville and Matamata are currently being updated and calibrated. These models will be used as tools to develop the masterplan.

The RFP closes at 4.00pm on Friday 4 February 2021.

Contract for Water Supply Master Plan Development – This contract is to develop a water master plan for Morrinsville and Matamata water supplies. The term of the contract is 18 weeks.

On 28 April 2022 this was awarded to WSP in the sum of $199,855.50 (excluding GST) using Price Quality method.
