The Ministry invites suitably qualified respondents to Tender for the Whakatane District Court Custodial Upgrade Project.
Whakatane District court delivers judicial services to the Eastern Bay of Plenty region. The Ministry has identified the need for improved amenities for building users at the Whakatane District Court.
The project involves two areas of work, the first is the ‘infill’ of a section of the building to create additional kitchenette facilities for the custodial staff adjacent to the cells area. Along with the construction of a new bail counter, WC’s and shower room. The second area requires the demolition of an existing Non-Contact Interview Room (NCIR) and construction of two new NCIR’s, and the installation of a new dock in the court room. The demolition and construction of the new NCIR’s can not proceed until the new bail counter has been fully completed. All other works can be completed at the same time.
All works are to be completed out of hours to ensure no disruption to court operations.
