Te Papa has launched a Renewal Programme to renew and alter various internal areas of the Museum. The first proposed project is the redevelopment of parts of levels 4 and 5 to create an extended Art Gallery space. This includes the creation of a new Threshold Gallery immediately adjacent to the public lifts on level 4. This renewal of Te Papa’s Art Exhibition space marks the beginning of an exciting new opportunity to create an Art Experience that is diverse, dynamic, audience centred, inspiring, and creative that is unique to New Zealand.
