Overview

The IHO has developed a new S-100 hydrographic standard designed to support a greater range of hydrographic-related digital data sources and products for safe navigation.
These products must be produced in the required format for display on board ships’ S-100 standard Electronic Chart Display Information System (ECDIS).
Maritime New Zealand is responsible for producing S-124 Navigational Warnings, part of a larger suite of S-100 digital products. To meet New Zealand’s obligations in support of the IMO e-navigation strategy, New Zealand must adopt the International Hydrographic Organization’s (IHO) S-100 standard.
This request for proposal is an invitation to submit a proposal for the provision of an integrated navigational warning service, including production of navigational warnings into a digital format (S-124), to enhance navigational safety within New Zealand's areas of responsibility.
