Meridian Energy is looking for a multi-disciplinary team to work with to design and construct a package of enhancement measures in the body of the Waitaki Dam. The works are a collection of civil, mechanical, electrical and control system initiatives which will address the recommendations of the recent Waitaki Dam Structure Safety Evaluation.

The works will include:
- installation of bulkheads to compartmentalise the dam galleries;
- installation of a piped manifold system, to collect uplift drain flows;
- excavation of water collection sumps in the foundation of the dam;
- new pump and delivery systems including new controls and instrumentation;
- construction of bracing struts in the dam gallery and foundation; and
- new lining and seals within the dam galleries.

Meridian wishes to identify interested parties to tender for the detailed design and construction works using a Request for Registration on Interest.
