MidCentral District Health Board (MDHB) recognises the need for widespread provision of smoking cessation support and wishes to support community pharmacists to provide smoking cessation brief advice, NRT initiation and referral for cessation support.

MDHB is partnering with community pharmacies to provide a Vape to Quit programme to enable individuals to use vaping as a smoking cessation strategy and alternative to smoking cigarettes. the DHB is looking to contract with a vape equipment and consumables supplier who is able to
• supply vaping starter kits (equipment and e-liquid) to pharmacies involved in the programme
• offer a favourable buying facility for direct purchase by pharmacies of ongoing consumables for the duration of an individual’s Vape to Quit programme.
