Overview

The Joining Land and Sea (JLAS) project was initiated by LINZ in 2017 to enable the merging of elevation and depth datasets on different vertical datums. Doing so would allow a seamless surface from the sea to the land for modelling of sea level rise, tsunami inundation, flooding, etc. across the New Zealand coastline.

This RFP relates to the purchase of services to determine the various surfaces that will be incorporated into our JLAS solution. Specifically, the Successful Respondent will need to undertake a high-level analysis to determine the most appropriate global MSS model for the New Zealand context.

The Successful Respondent will also be responsible for interpolating along the coastline between the Coastal Link Sites, and across the 30km zone between the coastline and the global model. The solution must include:
• An interpolated model of Mean Sea Surface (MSS), referenced to NZ Vertical Datum 2016 (NZVD2016)
• The Lowest Astronomic Tide (LAT) tide surface, referenced to NZVD2016
• A detailed report instructing on the methods used to create the above two deliverables.

We are seeking suppliers that have a clear Project Plan and who can render the deliverables by 30 June 2027.

Please see the attached documents for further information.
