The Buyer seeks to appoint a Respondent to deliver targeted seawall remediation works adjacent to the Wakatu Quay development site.

The Kaikōura District Council received funding from Kānoa – Regional Economic Development and Investment Unit’s Provincial Growth Fund in 2020 to undertake the redevelopment of Wakatu Quay. The Buyer is responsible for the delivery of this project.
We are passionate about Kaikōura and its tangata and its potential to develop and are looking to appoint and work with suppliers who share our aroha and ngākau nui for the region.

Our successful Respondent will possess exemplary health and safety records and will be able to demonstrate as many of the following attributes as possible within their proposal:
• Demonstrated experience in structural concrete repairs i.e. bridge repairs.
• Experience delivering works in a marine environment.
• A track record to that supports successful and timely delivery clearly embedded within their company DNA.
• Preference will be given to programmes that show practical completion being achieved within six months of site possession.
• The Respondent should be mindful that Kaikōura is a tourist town with peak season between Labour Day and Easter.
• The Buyer will be looking for a construction programme that completes the works within the shortest realistic period of time.
• The Buyer wants to promote and grow local delivery capability, whilst we are comfortable if the Respondent proposes to sub-contract works, utilisation of local subcontractors within their proposal will be considered favourably.
