The Invercargill City Council (ICC) will be procuring Architectural & Workspace Planning Services in January 2022 for their Civic Administration Building (CAB) project comprising of refurbishment, building services upgrades and minor strengthening works to the existing building. ICC wish to appoint a Architect by mid-February 2022.
As part of ICC’s Long-term Plan, the CAB was assessed as one of the Council’s aging buildings needing a significant upgrade or replacement, and presents an attractive opportunity to work on a high interest and essential civic building.
The CAB was constructed in the 1960s and has received minimal refurbishment or upgrades in that time. In addition to the aging building and services, the building configuration no longer fosters a functional and effective working environment for ICC, staff and the public. Accordingly, ICC are now intending to refurbish the existing building on selected floors to better meet and optimise the current and future needs - importantly in a modern, adaptable and collaborative working environment.
ICC intend to go to market on 10 January 2022 and the opportunity will be advertised on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS).
