This project involves the Design and Construction of the new Levin WWTP headworks (including design, supply, construction, installation, testing and commissioning and handover). The Levin WWTP has undergone a master plan and options study to inform the upgrades and improvements required at the future plant to meet their consent conditions. The headworks upgrade is part of the larger masterplan which seeks to upgrade the WWTP in packages over the next 5 years. The headworks upgrade is the first package of works in the programme
The Contract Works (or, the Works) is described in the Principal’s Project Requirements in Section B.2, and includes but is not limited to the key items of work as listed below and in accordance with this Request for Tender (RFT):
• The Contractor shall design, supply, construct, commission, test and integrate a new inlet headworks at the Levin Wastewater Treatment Plant (LWWTP), forming an integrated part of the new 1000 mm PE100 SN8 inlet pipe alignment. The works shall include all necessary civil, mechanical, electrical, and control elements to provide a fully operational and maintainable inlet headworks system.
• The Works shall include all relevant handover documentation (as-builts, O&MS, training material, test records etc).
• The Works shall meet all requirements and provisions of the Principal’s Requirements (B.2).
Tenders are requested from contractors with knowledge and experience in three waters infrastructure projects, specifically wastewater treatment plants. Experience in wastewater treatment plant and reticulation work is essential and is an important attribute in the evaluation of submitted tenders. The contractor (and subcontractors) shall have a minimum of one permanent fulltime staff member holding a NZQA Level 4 certificate in Water and Wastewater Management.
