2020 Breast Cancer Research in New Zealand Request for Proposals:
In partnership since 2013, the Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC), Breast Cancer Cure (BCC) and Breast Cancer Foundation NZ (BCFNZ) have supported high quality and innovative research into breast cancer in New Zealand.
Through the 2020 Breast Cancer Research in New Zealand Request for Proposals (RFP), the funding partners seek to fund research that will improve quality of life and ensure survival in breast cancer in New Zealand. Funding partners are interested in proposals that address inequitable access to treatment and improved health outcomes for communities disproportionately affected by breast cancer in New Zealand, particularly Māori and Pacific women. The proposed research must align with one or more of the research priority areas outlined in this RFP, including: prevention; early detection; diagnosis/prognostics; genomic or multigene testing; treatment; surveillance; immunotherapy; and transformative research.
A funding pool of $750,000 (exclusive of GST) is available for this RFP. The funding partners invite applications for funding of up to $250,000 (exclusive of GST) for each project and a duration of up to 24 months.
Eligibility criteria:
If you're the first-named investigator (i.e. lead researcher) on a partnership application, you must be based in New Zealand and employed with a New Zealand host organisation.
Application process:
If you’re applying for funding through the 2020 Breast Cancer Research in NZ partnership, you’ll need to submit a registration via HRC Gateway by 1 July 2020. You’ll then need to complete a full application using the 2020 Breast Cancer Research in NZ Application Form. You will also need to complete 2020 Breast Cancer Research in NZ Budget Form. Registrations and full applications are submitted via HRC Gateway (https://gateway.hrc.govt.nz/).
