Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is tendering the contract for editor for our quarterly magazine Heritage New Zealand (ISSN 1175-1916).
Experience is vital. This is not a hobby publication and the successful Tenderer will have to demonstrate a wealth of publishing experience and that they are a strategic thinker who can continue to build on successful developmental work done over the past few years. This 56 page (plus cover) full-colour quarterly magazine is published on the first day of March, June, September and December. It is a flagship publication for Heritage New Zealand, sent around the country and to overseas readers (as a core membership benefit) and a smaller list of subscribers.
Heritage New Zealand magazine needs a professional, experienced, high energy person – or editorial team – who can continue to produce the high-quality product that we’ve come to expect, and work positively and collaboratively with Heritage New Zealand staff, stakeholders and contracted designer/art director. A key performance indicator of this contract is the Editor’s ability to build and maintain relationships within Heritage New Zealand and with key stakeholders and suppliers associated with production.
The magazine includes some focus on our work, properties and successes, but it has a much wider focus on New Zealand and international heritage issues – both contemporary and historic. The supplier may sub-contract or commission any services that may be required to produce the magazine as per the service requirements in section 2 of the Request for tender document. Note that the design/art direction contract is also currently out for tender and providers who can supply both design and editorial services may provide a combined tender.
Requests for further information relevant to the tender must be directed by email only to: email@example.com with "Editorial tender" in the subject line.
Note: direct contact with Heritage New Zealand staff or suppliers associated with the magazine regarding this RFT and tender requirements may result in the Tenderer being excluded from consideration.
