Overview

Heritage New Zealand wish to construct a new 300sm restaurant building on their site on the Mission Bay, Auckland foreshore together with seismic strengthening to the existing 150sm heritage listed Stone Melanesian Mission Building. This is also an archaeologically listed site.

The new building is single story timber framed on a suspended steel structure supported with pad foundations. There is extensive use of timber with high quality materials. The existing stone building will have a timber shingle roof replacement and lime grout injection within existing walls together with structural steel members added.

The project has a high profile location between the waterfront and main road at Mission Bay. It has both historic and archaeological value and as such will be a showpiece for both Heritage New Zealand and the Contractor. Registrations of Interest are being sought to shortlist contractors to receive tender documents. These will include a Schedule of Quantities. Perspectives and drawing outlines are attached.
