Hutt City Council (HCC) is seeking a capable and experienced supplier to deliver event waste minimisation and resource recovery support services for events across Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai Lower Hutt.

This support will enable event organisers to comply with the Council’s Solid Waste Management and Minimisation Bylaw, which requires waste management and minimisation plans (WMMPs) for public events.

This procurement follows a successful trial of waste diversion support, which provided valuable insights into the types of services and levels of assistance needed by event organisers. One of the key findings was that smaller community events and recurring commercial events face the similar waste minimisation challenges to large community events, but often lack access to practical affordable support.
