Avalon Park Stage 3 Development
Hutt City Council contract AD16:4298
The Hutt City Council invites contractors to submit Registrations of Interest (ROI) for physical works commencing March with completion by 25 August 2017. The main component of this work involves developing a landscape around the model boating pond and constructing a boardwalk and a new bridge over the north end of the pond. Avalon Park is a horticultural park which contains a large and popular contemporary playground. The expectation is for a high quality result. Avalon Park is located in Lower Hutt on the corner of Fairway Drive and Taita Drive.
The work comprises, but is not limited to the following:
• Site clearance
• Installation of new electric BBQs
• Fabrication and installation of a new bridge with balustrades and decorative frond features over the model boating pond
• Construction of pedestrian paths concrete ramps with decorative concrete finishes, stairs and a timber boardwalk
• Construction of a timber viewing platform, timber jetties etc
• Formation of natural and reinforced grass areas
• Developing new garden beds and planting new trees
• Construction and/or installation of landscape features, including retaining walls with decorative panelling, park furniture, drinking fountain, bollards, large boulders, stone setts etc
• Construction of a new sewer and water pipelines and adjustments to the finished surface levels of existing utility services lids
• Construction of a new picnic shelter, including picnic tables and seating
• Widening at the Fairway Drive entrance to Avalon Park
• Installation of an electric vehicle recharge station as a separable portion
• Associated works
Council and Calibre Consulting Ltd will invite up to five of the top scoring ROIs to submit full tenders.
This will be a measure and value contract under NZS3910:2013.
