Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is pleased to advise that the closed tender for Pākōwhai (South and North) Flood Mitigation Project has been awarded. This procurement was originally issued as two separate contract packages (South and North). Following the evaluation process, the same contractor was identified as the preferred supplier for both packages and the contracts have subsequently been consolidated into a single contract.
The successful tenderer is Hick Bros Civil Construction Limited.
Hick Bros Civil Construction Limited has been awarded the contract for a thirteenth-month term, with a total contract value of $18,227,337.00.
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council shortlisted ten preferred suppliers following the 2024 Registration of Interest (ROI) process. Of these, four respondents submitted conforming tenders for the Southern Stopbank contract, and five respondents submitted conforming tenders for the Northern Stopbank contract.
Following a robust evaluation process and successful contract negotiations, Hick Bros Civil Construction Limited was selected as the preferred supplier for both tenders and subsequently awarded the consolidated contract.
The successful tender submission demonstrated the best overall value for money, taking into account relevant experience and resources, technical capability, and construction methodology.
