HBRC is looking for respondents who have the skills, local knowledge, experience, and expertise to commence gravel extraction work starting in July 2025. We want to work collaboratively with multiple local contractors to optimise the volumes of gravel extracted, while providing additional social benefits to the community. Conforming respondents will be ranked based on the volume they want to extract relative to the volume of gravel available for the allocation of the cross section from which they are requesting gravel, the incentivised value they are willing to offer the council and the social benefits they are willing to provide.

Notification letters regarding the award of the tender were dispatched to each respondent via email by an HBRC-IPMO employee on 4th July 2025. Tikokino Contractors Ltd has been granted the cross sections 20, 22, and 23 of the Waipawa River. Cross sections 10, 11, and 13 of the Waipawa River have not been allocated under this contract. Tūpore Infrastructure has been awarded all the remaining cross-sections tendered under this contract.
