Hawke’s Bay District Health Board (HBDHB) is currently building a new Mental Health Unit at Hastings Regional Hospital due for completion by December 2015. As a part of this development services will be implemented during 2015 to allow for this building to deliver a new intensive mental health service. This includes new mental health unplanned respite beds in the community to be delivered from February 2015
This service will consist of:
• 5 mental health unplanned respite beds with ability to respond to a greater than planned demand for service with capacity for 7 beds.
• Located in Hastings or Napier
• House availability from mid-January 2015 with expected service delivery commencing early February 2015
• Registered health professional service manager
• To support recovery Key Workers will maintain contact with clients during the day.
