The four Northern Region DHBs (NRDHB) spend approximately $2m pa on the rental and purchase of Pressure Relieving Mattresses and related Accessories (PRM) for use within the hospital sites. This is split approximately 75% for rental and 25% for purchases, and are currently supplied by a range of suppliers. The DHBs are aiming to gain increased value for money through efficiencies. Due to the size of the procurement, the opportunity may be leveraged in a number of different arrangements:
1) A panel of suppliers is established in which each DHB can purchase/rent through a number of suppliers without any commitment to volumes
2) A panel of suppliers in which a DHB may elect to select one supplier with an agreed commitment to volume.
3) A panel of suppliers in which the NRDHB’s may elect to select one supplier with an agreed commitment to volume.
