Overview

Gore is a progressive community with many attractions for residents and visitors. Located in Southland, the town has a strong agricultural-based economy and services a large rural population. These attributes are epitomised in the Council and District’s brand of Rural City Living.

The Gore District Council (GDC) always strive to enhance liveability, resilience and vibrancy. The Council is looking for suitable suppliers to submit their solutions and proposals for street features, in particular for improvement in the lighting of an area known locally as the ‘Triangle Reserve’ as the primary scope. It is home to Gore’s famous brown trout statue. The scope of work for the primary works is as follows:
- All items to be supplied on a turn-key basis and according to the relevant New Zealand standards and the Gore District Plan http://www.goredc.govt.nz/documents-and-forms/documents-a-z/district-plan-2/
- All lighting items must be anti-vandalism up to a high extent
- The primary works at “Triangle Reserve” are:
a) Illuminating the trout statue;
b) Illuminating the Gore sign;
c) Illuminating the trees (11 in number) with various colours;
d) Improving pedestrian lighting within the Triangle Reserve;
e) A provision for a power panel for social events.

The opportunity may extend further to the Main Street, the central business district and heritage precinct.

Indeed, we are looking for partnering with a supplier to undertake the primary scope, at ‘Triangle Reserve’. We also want a supplier to assist the Council in current and future developments as mentioned above. Continuity of the engagement will be subject to the successful delivery of the primary scope, demonstration of the capability to undertake further works, and providing reasonable and competitive prices.
