Overview

‘Unmanned Tunnel Inspections’ is an initiative that aims to undertake periodic hydro tunnel condition assessments without having people enter the tunnel. Genesis is seeking interest from parties with capabilities to build or deploy existing technology capable of undertaking a tunnel inspection for tunnels up to 20km long. Genesis is open to the type of technology but ideally the inspection would take place while the tunnel is still full of water, lending itself to an unmanned ROV inspection.

Genesis is looking for credible providers who have the capability, experience and innovative thinking to work with us for the best possible outcome. They need a good track record in similar inspections or transferable examples of overcoming substantial challenges.

This is a unique opportunity to work with an organisation prepared to substantially change the way we think about tunnel inspections. Assuming the longest Genesis tunnel (20km and a 40km round trip) is successfully inspected via a submersible ROV, it is understood that this will be the longest completed in the world.
