The purpose of this review is two-fold. Firstly, to identify problems affecting cost and access to remittance services between NZ and the Pacific including understanding the drivers of bank account closures in New Zealand, with reference to existing work already completed. Secondly, to develop a set of feasible policy options to address the issues in the New Zealand remittance market that would maintain access and reduce costs of remitting money from NZ to the Pacific.
