The scope of services to be provided cover the standard configuration, maintenance and tuning for the SQL and the MySQL databases to a set Service Level, including:
1. Monitoring and management.
o Real-time performance and threshold monitoring and alert (24 hours).
o Incident Management.
o Post incident review.
o Audit and Reporting.
o Maintain documentation for administration.
o Optimise database performance.
o Service review meetings.
2. Proactive monitoring and troubleshooting
o Disk management.
o Log Management.
o Consistency checks.
o SQL server configuration.
o Identify and manage performance issues.
o Database health checks.
o Advise on the databases issues.
o Advise on changes to database configuration.
o Recommend changes to reduce support and cost (consolidation).
3. Routine tasks
o Backup management.
o Database recovery and restoration.
o Review and resolution of SQL alerts and errors.
o Apply SQL Patches and server packs.
o Server rebuilds after failure.
4. Operational Support.
o Application/System maintenance and Update support.
o Database creation and deletion.
o Troubleshoot connectivity issues.
5. Security
o User and security administration.
