Overview

Enable New Zealand is a wholly owned Crown entity subsidiary of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora. We are New Zealand’s largest provider of disability and rehabilitation equipment, hearing and spectacle subsidies, as well as vehicle and housing modifications.
Enable New Zealand is contracted by:

• the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) through its business group Disability Support Services (DSS), and
• the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC),

to provide a service for the repair and maintenance of equipment issued by Enable New Zealand. The service is available nationwide for ACC and south of the Bombay Hills for DSS.

Enable New Zealand is conducting an evaluation of its Equipment Subcontract Panel (the Panel) to reestablish a group of suitability qualified equipment subcontractors that perform equipment repairs, refurbishments, modification and annual servicing duties. The purpose of these services is to ensure that the DSS and ACC equipment that people are using is safe and in good repair. This procurement process invites interested parties to submit a Registration that demonstrates a commitment to achieving balanced outcomes for customers while maximising cost benefits for our funding agencies

Enable New Zealand aims to maintain transparent and collaborative relationships with the Panel. The revitalisation of the Panel will involve implementing incremental changes to the current operating model.

As a member of the Panel, these changes will create a more structured approach to the delivery of contracted services and pricing, while promoting contract management effectiveness. By streamlining operations with the Panel, it will ensure contractual obligations are met, essential customer needs are addressed, cost-effective delivery is achieved, and greater value is realised for our funders.
