Overview

EECA is seeking a suitably qualified supplier, or consortium of suppliers, to undertake strategic research and analytical work relating to the future growth of data centres in New Zealand and the associated implications for the electricity system, renewable energy development, distributed flexibility, infrastructure planning, and future policy or regulatory settings.

The research forms part of EECA’s emerging work programme focused on efficient and flexible energy use, electrification, distributed flexibility and long-term energy system resilience. The work also aligns with EECA’s broader Horizon Plan and wider government interests relating to infrastructure development, digital capability, renewable energy integration and economic growth.
