The Otago Home Energy Retrofit Project is a new initiative that entails a comprehensive upgrade of low-income households to alleviate energy hardship and unlock the associated health and wellbeing benefits.
It is an opportunity to apply different approaches to reach vulnerable households (e.g. geographical or community targeting; whole-of-street visits; and word-of-mouth), and various measures to lift the quality of their home in terms of warmth, dryness, energy efficiency and safety.
We are looking to engage a proven delivery organisation to effectively utilise the $2.5 million funding available.

The project must be delivered in the Otago region (defined as the Otago Regional Council’s boundaries).

Applicants should present a proposal for treatment of 250-300 low-income, owner-occupied households. We define ‘low-income’ as: the owner-occupier is a Community Services Card holder or the household is in deprivation areas 8, 9 or 10.
