Overview

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) is a Government agency that works to improve the energy efficiency of New Zealand's homes and businesses, and encourage the uptake of renewable energy. EECA BUSINESSTM provides assistance, funding and support to promote good energy management in New Zealand businesses.
This Invitation to Register (ITR) is issued by EECA BUSINESSTM to seek proposals from suitably qualified Suppliers to become registered Programme Partners for the Commercial and Industrial Energy Auditing Programme
OVERVIEW OF PROGRAMME
Energy audits are an integral part of the energy management process as specified in ISO 50001:2011, Energy management systems – Requirements with guidance for use. They determine how efficiently energy is being consumed, identify energy and cost saving opportunities, and highlight potential improvements in systems and processes.
An energy audit undertaken to the appropriate standards is a key link in the energy management process ensuring cost-effective energy saving opportunities are identified and quantified providing the basis for a comprehensive implementation plan.
Funding assistance is available to undertake the following types of energy audits in accordance with each of Parts 1 (Commercial buildings) & Part 2 (Industrial and related activities) of AS/NZS 3598:2014:
Type 1: Basic energy audit
Type 2: Detailed energy audit
Type 3: Precision subsystem audit
Funding assistance is only available for Energy Audits undertaken by persons accredited by the Energy Management Association of New Zealand to undertake such activities.
“Type 3” audits may only be undertaken by Energy Auditors with the appropriate EMANZ Energy Masters qualifications. Where no appropriate EMANZ Energy Masters qualification exists, EECA will assess each application on a “case by case” basis.
Commercial and Industrial Energy Auditing Programme Partners will also be able to access funding for EECA’s Base Level Energy Audits under the terms and conditions set out for EECA’s Base Level Energy Audits from time to time.
Energy auditing projects undertaken by EECA Programme Partners in accordance with AS/NZS 3598:2014 are eligible for an EECA contribution of up to 40% of each project’s cost up to $20,000. This means M&T projects exceeding $50,000 may be eligible for EECA contributions of up to $20,000 per project.
