The General Election is one of New Zealand's largest public events and relies on highly capable and experienced suppliers to support the Electoral Commission in delivering this increasingly complex and logistically challenging event.
The Electoral Commission is looking for suitably experienced and capable suppliers with innovative approaches that can ensure personal computing devices are delivered to, and collected from, temporary staff across New Zealand involved in supporting a general election, with minimal delay and maximum efficiency.
This ROI is open to all suppliers that have capability and can offer a solution to our requirements, including suppliers on government panels, eg, All-of-Government IT Hardware. However, laptops, desktops or monitors (essential hardware) will only be purchased from suppliers on the IT Hardware panel. This does not exclude other commercial approaches from any supplier, for example, leasing or device as a service being proposed as solutions for essential hardware needs.
The Commission will be holding an open briefing session via Teams to all suppliers interested on 18 February 2025.

After an open ROI and closed RFP to a shortlist from the ROI, the Electoral Commission, 34-42 Manners Street, Wellington is pleased to announce that One New Zealand Limited (NZBN 9429037753115) 30 Daldy Street, Wynward Quarter, Auckland, with the Laptop Company Limited (NZBN 9429039724991) Level 12 22-28 Willeston Street, Wellington, and Softsource Limited (NZBN 9429035156987), 42 Tawa Drive, Albany, Auckland has been awarded the contract for providing personal devices including mobile phones, laptops, desktops, monitors, and accessories, and supporting services and connectivity to support election events for an initial term of 3 years, with a right of renewal of a further term of 3 years (total 6 years). The Laptop Company is a supplier on the All-of-Government IT Hardware contract.
The contract was signed Friday 27 November 2025. The expected spend under the contract for the first term is $6,111,217.70 excluding GST.
