The Telecommunications as a Service (TaaS) Programme is a joint initiative between the Department of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, on behalf of the Government Chief Information Officer.

TaaS aims to deliver a range of cross-government telecommunications and managed security services sourced from a competitive innovative market, which are both easy for government agencies to use and can assist agencies to provide better public services.

An RFI for telecommunications and managed security services was released in June to inform the TaaS Programme about:.

• the market’s capability, key players, and trends in both supply and purchasing;
• the market’s ability to adapt to new demands, and the feasibility of doing so.

The attached report is a brief summary of the findings gathered from the respondents during this early market engagement.
