Last year, the Department ran an RFI to explore potential solutions for Notifications and Secure Messaging Services within the Government App. The feedback received has been valuable in guiding our procurement planning.

We plan to issue a formal RFP in the coming months for the notifications service (sending messages from agencies to users of the Govt.nz app). SMS and email functionality described in the May 2025 RFI will be out of scope for this RFP.

To provide context for the upcoming RFP, we will host a supplier briefing outlining how the solution could function. Details, including session time and agenda, will be shared as soon as they are available.
