The National Library works to enrich the cultural and economic life of New Zealand by collecting, preserving, and protecting documents, particularly those relating to New Zealand, and making them accessible for all the people of New Zealand, in a manner consistent with their status as documentary heritage and taonga. The Library began harvesting and archiving websites in 1999, covered by Legal Deposit legislation (National Library of New Zealand Act 2003, Part 4).

The Library is seeking for a supplier in partnering with the Library to undertake web crawling of the publicly accessible New Zealand web domain. The New Zealand web domain is broadly defined as those resources belongs to the country-code top-level domain (i.e. ‘.nz’) and other resources identified as being hosted within New Zealand.
