Overview

The Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa (Creative New Zealand) is looking for a Pacific-led arts organisation to develop, deliver and report on a high-quality Pacific Arts Internships Programme for a 12-month period during 2023-2024.

The primary aim of the Pacific Arts Internships Programme is to provide opportunities for Pacific arts practitioners to increase their arts management skills and experience. The initiative also aims to address skill-gaps and opportunities that have been identified through Creative New Zealand’s Pacific Arts Strategy 2018-2023.

The Pacific Arts Internships will:
• offer a total number of five internships each year
• provide a structured programme of training for emerging Pacific arts to build their skills and arts and cultural sector knowledge, experience and networks through an intern placement within a host arts organisation
• provide support and relevant training, information and advice to host organisations
• increase the numbers of experienced Pacific arts practitioners and managers in Aotearoa New Zealand’s broader arts and cultural sector
• support a more inclusive and culturally competent arts and cultural sector for Aotearoa New Zealand
• adhere to the recommended Minimum Standards for Creative New Zealand supported Internships.
The purpose of the Pacific Arts Internships Programme is to develop emergent arts practitioners and arts managers within and for the Pacific and broader Aotearoa New Zealand arts infrastructure.

The budget allocated to this programme is $173,782 excluding GST.

Creative New Zealand is adopting a two-stage process to award a contract to a suitable Supplier to develop, deliver and report on a high-quality Pacific Arts Internships Programme.

In this first stage we will receive and evaluate Registrations of Interest (ROI) from parties that are interested in developing and delivering the Pacific Arts Internships Programme (Internships Programme) under a contract with Creative New Zealand.
