Pilot of a Better by Lean Initiative

Callaghan Innovation needs to ensure that its targeted programme continue to meet ever changing business requirements.
Better by Lean, also referred to as Lean, is a programme aimed at assisting New Zealand companies to succeed in growing their businesses by:

 focusing on creating customer value,
 eliminating waste, and
 achieving continuous improvement.

“Lean 1.0” which is generally people led and leadership focused, gets a business culturally Lean. Lean 2.0, with Lean 1.0 being a prerequisite (the business is already on the Lean journey) is generally technology led.

To promote and facilitate the currency of Lean solutions, we wish to fund 2 separate pilots of “Lean Initiatives” that are specifically designed to assist businesses in any of the emerging areas for Lean. Cost of the pilot must not exceed $49,000.
Our preference is that these are technology focused and can include anything that delivers productivity gains, including but not limited to:
• IoT
• Robotics
• AGVs
• Augmented Reality
• General Automation.

This procurement relates to the opportunity to undertake of a pilot of a Better by Lean Initiative. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is the third of three related RFP’s, that we have released on GETS for the Better by Lean Programme.
The first RFP is for the provision of Better by Lean Workshops.
The second RFP is for the provision of Better by Lean Consultancy Services.
