Overview

The Commission for Financial Capability (CFFC) is focused on growing the financial capability of New Zealanders as a means to building wealthy lives. This is anchored in the notion of being resilient in the face of unexpected life events, having choices and being able to realise personal goals around what a wealthy life can be. Sorted is a key asset in this endeavour – enabling sustained behavioural change on a mass scale.

Sorted is the consumer-facing brand of CFFC, with sorted.org.nz being the primary digital asset to build financial capability and sustained changes in personal financial management behaviours. Included within the Sorted environment are a collection of calculators and a separate site, the KiwiSaver fund finder.

CFFC is looking to work collaboratively with an agency or consortium of agencies to progressively confirm functional requirements, complete the build, and support ongoing maintenance of the Sorted digital solution. CFFC recognises the need to bring creative experts together in order to create a digital solution which is well utilised and delivers sustainable behaviour change. How the final product looks will be an iterative process and CFFC anticipates working with the chosen supplier to explore options and solutions.

The Sorted website has not kept pace with the expectations of internet users today. The current site is not optimised for mobile and provides an outdated navigational experience. The content is well regarded, but it can be challenging and overwhelming for people, especially those with lower levels of financial capability. When Sorted feels overwhelming and users don’t have the mental bandwidth to cope, we create reasons for disengagement.

In order for the reach of Sorted to have the greatest impact, the current digital solution needs to be redeveloped to create an experience that drives behaviour change. In addition, the brand equity of Sorted needs to be founded on utility for a full spectrum of individuals, situations, requirements and abilities.

The website redevelopment is required to ensure that the look and design and the way it functions are consistent with the new brand identity. Most importantly, the digital experience needs to deliver a personalised experience.
