Canterbury Health Laboratories is looking to purchase a semi-automated gel electrophoresis system, complete with data handling software and sample traceability from pipetting through to result entry. The primary purpose will be to provide routine serum and urine protein electrophoresis, including the ability to quantitate any paraproteins observed and immunofixation of these paraproteins for the CDHB and referred samples. As such it is essential that the equipment will have a degree of flexibility to allow us to deal with the expectations of clinicians in a hospital setting.

We will require excellent technical support in a timely manner to allow us to meet our clinicians needs. Critical to monitoring our Myeloma patients is a database capable of storing patient history, including immunofixation results and easy retrieval and review of patient history. The ability to import supporting test data into the software system would be advantageous.
