The Ashburton Hospital existing heating system comprises three coal boilers which are now at end of life, requiring replacement. Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) wish to investigate the option of replacing the existing coal boilers with a high temperature heat pump option utilising artesian ground water as the heat source, i.e. on the evaporator side.

The purpose of this RFI is to assess suppliers’ interest, capability and experience and assist in selection of tenderers for a formal tender process, should this design solution be adopted.
