Overview

This an invitation for expressions of interest (EOI) for suppliers and partners (sponsors) to work with the Ara Institute of Canterbury (Ara) and the Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) to establish a new Health Research Education Facility (HREF) in the health precinct, Te Papa Hauora, in Christchurch, New Zealand. The health precinct brings together researchers, students and clinicians in one central space; all contributing to a vibrant, stimulating and productive environment. It is based on the proven principle that co-locating clinical care, teaching and research brings many advantages, especially in the rapid translation of research findings to the clinical environment.

HREF will provide an environment that promotes cross-disciplinary teaching and research and shared use of spaces will incorporate greater assimilation of education and research into clinical practice as well as the integration of the entire health journey of education, research, and training. The building, which is currently under construction, will be home to over 2000 Ara students as well as to the CDHB staff and academics and students from some of the University of Canterbury health sciences. The project requires various items of furniture, fittings and equipment.

We need your help to finish the HREF building. Our project budget, like other health organisations, is under strain. We are looking for organisations and people who are willing to contribute to the furnishings, fittings and equipment needed to finish the building, which is due for completion in late June 2018. You can help by providing new or refurbished items either directly, if you are supplier, or covering the purchase costs, for other organisations and people. You may have end-of-line, demonstration models, traded-in items or surplus items that you are willing to donate to HREF, or provide at a heavily discounted rate. You may be able to help out with installation and ongoing costs associated with equipment.

We believe that by partnering with us you will receive a range of benefits. To recognise the differing values, we have categorised the sponsorships into bronze, silver and gold levels.

We are holding a briefing for interested parties. The briefing is at 8:30am, Monday 19 March 2018. See section 1.3 for further details.
