In late 2014, the South Island Child Health Service Level Alliance (SI CHSLA) determined that its preferred option for treating moderate to severe child obesity treatment was the Triple P Healthy Lifestyle Group (Triple P HLG) intervention. This is an Australian intervention not previously tested in New Zealand. The aim of the programme is to help parents develop effective strategies for managing their child’s weight by introducing gradual permanent changes in their family’s lifestyle (e.g. healthier family eating, encouraging physical activity).

This ROI relates to training an agreed number of facilitators to deliver a Canterbury DHB wide Triple P HLG targeted at children with unhealthy weight. We are seeking multiple providers to deliver this programme across the Canterbury region. We are committed to ensuring a good geographical coverage for both Regions.
