Overview
CCDHB and Hutt Valley DHB are currently changing their process of managing acute, post- acute and long term orthotic services. The services are currently contracted and managed under separate contracts for the majority of the long term (DSS) orthoses and short term/acute.
The current long term orthotics contract (DSS) is managed by SIDU and combines Hutt and CCDHB spend in a capped contract with a single provider for all orthotic requests (Standard and specialist). There are separate CCDHB contracts for specialist acute/short term orthotics which include three pathways, outpatient and inpatient services. These contracts are shared between two providers.
