Overview of the Opportunity

Christchurch City Council (the Council) intends to issue an open market Request for Tender (RFT) for the Edmonds Band Rotunda Repairs.

Severely damaged in the EQ events of 2010/11, only the Dome and external entrance steps remain of the structure. The Edmonds Band Rotunda will be reconstructed utilising engineered, reinforced base foundations forming an elevated floor from which reinforced newly formed columns will be reinstated as bearers to carry the remaining original Dome structure. Works will be undertaken to carefully replicate the form and aesthetic of the original rotunda whilst offering seismic performance required by current requirements. A detailed repair and reinstatement of specific elements of the Dome will be undertaken including repairs and renewals of the original copper external roof cladding. The structure will be reinstated in the position of the original form.


Purpose of the Notice

The purpose of this notice is to inform potential respondents of the nature and timing of the proposed RFP to allow for advanced planning. It is anticipated that the evaluation model for the RFT will be based in weighted attribute (Non-Price and Price criteria).

The Council is currently finalizing the technical documents and it is aiming to release the tender documents on GETS late this month.
