Christchurch City Council (the Council/we/us/our) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) from suitably qualified contractors (Respondents) who are interested in delivering the construction of a new community centre in St Albans.

Located at 1049 Colombo Street, the level 1000m2 site is that of the previous Community Centre. The new building will be single level of approximately 400m2 and will include a 500m2 carpark on the adjoining site at 122 Caledonian Road. The building will be constructed under a traditional NZS3910 contract. Concept design is complete and detailed design has commenced. The floor, walls and roof are to be constructed from Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), with suitable exterior cladding.

The purpose of this EOI is to prequalify and shortlist suitable Respondents. The EOI process involves a quality attribute evaluation methodology. EOI submissions should clearly demonstrate the Respondent's proven abilities in relation to the key aspects of the Contract Works. It is anticipated that shortlisted Respondents will then be asked to provide commercial proposals under an RFT process.
