In June 2018 Christchurch City Council adopted the 2018-2028 Long Term Plan. This plan included funding for the on-gong investment in Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens.
Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens are two of the premier parks within the New Zealand urban landscape, hosting millions of visitors every year. They are complex sites with multiple stakeholders and possibly the highest level of public interest from the wider Christchurch and Canterbury region.
The Christchurch City Council, as the administrator of Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens, is required to manage each according to its purpose and must ensure the need to cater for the public use is effectively balanced with good management both in terms of the effects of this use and reference to the Master Plan, Management Plan and Conservation Plans. These planning documents provide an approved outline for desired outcomes for Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens that have been widely consulted on.
The Council’s focus for its management of Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens is to achieve the optimum community outcomes for the benefit of all members of the public and to protect the environment and character of each for future generations to come.
The purpose of this RFP is to invite Prospective Suppliers to submit their Proposals for the provision of Landscape Design Services for Hagley Park and the Christchurch Botanic Gardens Capital Investment Programme.
