Overview

Christchurch City Council (the Council) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) from suitably qualified suppliers (Prospective Suppliers) who are interested in supplying services to recycle crushed concrete from the demolition of Lancaster Park] to the Council.

The demolition of the Deans and Paul Kelly Stands at Lancaster Park will generate circa 68,000m3 of partly processed concrete material. Typically, this type of material would be dumped in the Lyttelton Port land reclamation, while this is still possible the Council are keen to understand if there is an alternative use for the product that would see the concrete recycled in different forms.

The project "Lancaster Park demolition" will require processed fill back to the site following on from foundation removal, we estimate that we may require circa 30,000m3 of fill for in ground back fill. With that in mind the Council propose to purchase back, suitable clean material at a grade similar to AP65.

Council also have other projects within the city limits that may also take advantage of a cost effective clean fill material if available and meets site specific requirements.

The purpose of this EOI is to gauge market interest and demand from Prospective Suppliers. The EOI process involves a quality attribute evaluation methodology. EOI submissions should clearly demonstrate the Prospective Supplier's proven abilities in relation to the key aspects of the scope of the requested services. It is anticipated that Prospective Suppliers will then be asked to provide commercial proposals under an RFP/RFT process.
