Overview

What we need:
The New Zealand Commerce Commission (the Commission) is holding its third biennial conference on the 20th and 21st of July 2017 which will include a dinner on the 20th. The Commission is seeking to appoint a conference provider to organise and host this event. The provider will have to work with our confirmed venue, Te Papa, to arrange this event to a high standard. The event is expected to have 300 attendees for the conference and 200 for the dinner.

What we don’t want:
The Commission is looking for a provider to manage the whole event and is not interested in proposals for only part of the required services.

What’s important to us:
The Commission is looking for credible providers who have the capability, experience and infrastructure to deliver the event management to a high standard and who will also provide value for money.
It is proposed that ticket prices will reflect the total cost of the event. At the same time we are aiming for registration prices to be reasonable so that a wide range of people can attend.

Why should you bid:
This is an opportunity for the winning Respondent to demonstrate its event management prowess to a diverse audience representing business interests across a wide range of industries and government organisations in New Zealand. It is also an opportunity to contribute to a unique event that will support the development of competition law and regulation in New Zealand.

A bit about us:
The Commission is New Zealand’s competition enforcement and regulatory agency. We are an independent crown entity with a mandate to achieve the best possible outcomes in competitive and regulated markets in New Zealand. Our main areas of work are in fair trading, consumer credit, business competition and as the regulator for key industries such as electricity, gas, dairy and telecommunications.
